Abstract

701,960. Suspending bombs from aircraft. AKTIEBOLAGET BOFORS. June 23, 1952 [June 26, 1951], No. 15765/52. Class 9(2) Rockets 1 are suspended, as from aircraft, by means adapted to co-operate with means attached to the front of the rocket, and by a second means such as a tube 5 adapted to co-operate with the rear portion of the rocket itself, the arrangement being such as to\permit axial movement of the rocket. The device shown consists of a U-shaped suspension member 12 having flanges 10, 11 which support flanges 6, 7 on a member 4. Each flange has an abutment forming a stop for limiting the rearward movement of the rocket when it is being mounted in position. During such mounting the member 4 lifts and then releases a spring-pressed rod 13 which serves to prevent the rocket from axial movement prior to launching.
