Abstract

701,810. Pile fabrics. HOLT, T. W., and STUART, J. F. W. April 28, 1952, [April 30, 1951], No. 10044/51. Class 142(4) A pile fabric is woven from two sets of warps, one set being maintained under tension and the other set being fed forward intermittently after each pick to produce loops as, for example, by a terry motion. The reverse side of the fabric is coated with a plastic or with rubber which prevents the warps from being pulled out. Both sets of warps are dyed to have a ground colour and the pile warps are printed in warp form with any desired pattern.
