Abstract

701,748. Thermal switches. ANGEL ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 29, 1952 [Feb. 19, 1951], No. 3993/51. Class 38(5) A switch, suitable for immersion in an aquarium, comprises a bimetal strip 10a mounted on a metal strip 10 secured to a pivoted metal block 9, to which is also connected a blade spring 16, tending to hold the contacts open. Strip 10a carries a contact 11 and is held by a magnet 8 when contacts 7, 11 are closed. The lower, looped, end of strip 10 is engaged by an adjusting screw 13 threaded in a member 5 forming a water-tight closure for a surrounding glass tube 6. The spring 16 and strips 10, 10a may be formed from a single piece of bimetal. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 641,919.
