Abstract

In a duplex purifying machine for flour mill stocks in which the stock is passed along sieves a which are vibrated, each sieve is provided with a hood comprising a short vertical wall c, a roof d which slopes upward at an angle of not more than 25 degrees to the horizontal. and an inner wall e which also forms a wall of the common exhaustion duct b and is provided with spaced apertures f controlled by slide valves g operated by handles h. Each roof d is made of transparent material. Tins i disposed across the tops of the sieves a collect the heavier materials lifted by the air currents, the gap between adjacent tins decreasing in width from the outer side of the machine towards the central common exhaustion duct to obtain a uniform rate of air flow over the full width of the sieves. The bottom k of the duct b is made separate therefrom and is vibrated to convey light particles deposited in the trunk to a discharge outlet.
