Class 39 (3) A radiator has an electrical steam generating portion comprising a metal casing 5 connected with the lower passage 4 of the radiator. A metal electrode 9 is supported by and insulated from a screw-plug 8 which closes the casing, and live and neutral conductors 13, 17 of an alternating current supply are respectively connected to the electrode 9 and casing 5, the latter constituting a second electrode. The electrode 9 may be of a circular, square or triangular cross section and tapering in length: also it may be a solid rod or a perforated or unperforated tube.
