Abstract
A medicine for oral or parenteral administration, which is particularly effective against mycobacteria, comprises a mixture of the antibiotic oxytetracyline and the antibiotic Viomycin (R.T.M.), preferably in a proportion equivalent to 50 to 90 parts by weight of Viomycin sulphate and 50 to 10 parts by weight of oxytetracycline hydrochloride. The oxytetracycline may be used as such or in the form of the acid salt or metal salt. Viomycin may be in the form of the base or acid salt such as sulphate or hydrochloride. Specifications 684,417 and 687,500, [both in Group IV(b)], are referred to.
