Abstract

680,874. Oil gas generation. COMPAGNIE PAN-EUROPEENNE D'INSTALLATIONS ET D'EQUIPEMENT INDUSTRIELS. Sept. 6, 1950 [June 3, 1950], No. 21993/50. Class 55 (ii). Oil gas plant comprises a generator band regenerators a, c, each end of the generator having a fuel inlet b 4 and being connected to an end of one of the regenerators; inlets for gasifying agent from a line n (air, oxygen or mixtures with or without steam) and an outlet j for the product gases are provided at the other end of the regenerators, enabling the flow of gases to be reversed in alternate stages of operation. The outlet gases heat incoming fuel in a heat exchanger l, e.g. to 300‹-380‹C. The fuel may be mixed with steam or gas, e.g. produced in the plant. The gasifying agent may be heated in the regenerator to 1,000‹-1,400‹C. Steam preferably replaces gasifying agent supplied to the first regenerator to purge oxygen therefrom immediately before reversing the flow, and is exclusively supplied thereafter for a short time to the other regenerator. Super-atmospheric pressures, e.g. 5-30 atmospheres may be employed.
