Abstract

680,132. Refuse shoots. BROADS MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and TAYLOR, C. G. Aug..31, 1950 [Oct. 19, 1949], No. 26892/49 Class 26 [Also in Group XXX] The refuse shoot comprises a glazed earthenware pipe consisting of sections 10 and branched inlet sections 11 at each floor lead. The pipe is set in concrete, part 15 of which forms a continuation of the branch. A sheet metal box 18 having stop 19, side and rear walls 21, . 22 is fitted in the concrete at the opening' and is welded to a T-section frame 17. A hopper for the refuse has front and rear wells 27, 28, and side members 29. A bar 25 welded to the hopper passes through loops .24 and . a bracket 23 secured to the. T frame, the hopper being pivotally mounted. The hopper which is self-closing has a resilient strip 32. provided at the top An air vent 33 is material is deliof the pipe and the vered to a receiving bin 35 on wheels at the bottom of the pipe.
