Abstract

688,409. Racket-presses. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Aug. 1, 1951. [Aug. 12, 1950]. No. 20069/50. Class 132 (ii). In a tennis-racket press having two frames 1, 2 pressed together against spring pressure by cranked lever arms 14 bearing on spring leaves 13 on the frame 1 and pivoted in slots 8 in plates 3 secured to the frame 2, different thicknesses of racket may be accommodated by providing on each plate 3 a horizontallyslidable plate 10 having vertical slots 11a of different length which can be aligned with the slot 8 by sliding the plate. The fulcrum point of the levers can thus be changed. Loops 5 of brackets 12 secured to the frame 1 embrace limbs of each plate 3 and the.loops 5 are connected by a spring steel rod 7 in a depending socket 6 of the plate 3 to give the spring pressure tending to separate the frames.
