Abstract

688,311. Lubricating dynamo electric machines. JARSAILLON, F. Sept. 5, 1950 [Sept. 8, 1949], No. 21900/50. Class 35. A circulating water pump for use in central heating systems is driven directly and without stuffing-boxes by a motor having its stator separated from the rotor by a partition 5. Part of the water displaced by the pump 1 passes through radially disposed holes 13 in the walls of chamber 10 and also through ducts 14 in a flange 2 so as to cover the bearings 8, 9 with a liquid-film acting as a lubricant. A through hole 7 in the shaft 6 assures the reflux of the water traversing the bearing 8 which is then discharged through the openings 15 into the pump. Fig. 2 shows a device to be screwed in a tapped projection 16 of the pump casing 1 so that by means of a tapered part 23 of a rod 22 the running and direction of rotation of the pump can be determined.
