Abstract

An antiseptic sheet is prepared by incorparating in a mix containing a vinyl resin, a bactericide scarcely soluble in water but soluble in the mix and a water-soluble substance soluble both in the mix and with the bactericide. Specified bactericides are a mixture of isomeric benzyl cresols and orthobenzyl-para chlorophenol. Specified substances having the required multiple solubility are dioctyl-sodium sulphosuccinate, sulphated castor oil and parachlormeta-cresol. Examples relate to the employment of polyvinyl chloride plasticized by dibutyl phthalate and containing, if desired, chlorinated paraffin wax as an extender. Pine-oil is referred to as an optional ingredient.ALSO:An antiseptic sheet is prepared by incorporating in a synthetic plastic mix, particularly a mix containing a thermoplastic synthetic resin such as a vinyl resin, a bactericide scarcely soluble in water but soluble in the mix and a water-soluble substance soluble both in the mix and with the bactericide. Specified bactericides are a mixture of isomeric benzyl cresols, and orthobenzyl-parachloro-phenol. Specified substances having the required multiple-solubility are dioctyl-sodium-sulphosuccinate, sulphated castor oil and parachlormetacresol. Examples relate to the employment of polyvinyl chloride plasticised by dibutyl phthalate and containing if desired chlorinated paraffin wax as an extender.
