Abstract

684,146. Conduits. BIESTA, D. J. H., and SCHMIDT, W. April 20, 1951 [May 4, 1950], No. 9248/51. Class 36. [Also in Group XXXV] A prefabricated conduit system comprises a central conduit box 1 having a number of tubular conduits connected thereto, each comprising rigid lengths 7 and flexible lengths 6 and enclosing insulated conductors 10 which are accessible at both ends of the tubes. The flexible portions 6 permit the conduit to be folded into a bundle for easy transportation. Each conduit terminates with a flexible portion to which terminal boxes 8 may be secured, or in which insulating tubing 9 may be inserted for the protection of protruding conductors 10. The flexible portions may be connected to the rigid portions and to tubular studs 4 on boxes 1 and 8 as by screwing. The tubes 6 and 7 may be made of metal or plastic material.
