Abstract
670,813. Optical projection apparatus. KENNEDY, J. R., and ADAMTCHIK, M. T. Dec. 21, 1949 [Oct. 28, 1949], No. 27710/49. Class 97 (i). The apparatus is cooled by draught induced by a high-speed air jet or jets forced into the flue by an electrically-driven fan which may be of the centrifugal or axial flow type. The cooling unit shown is carried on a projector casing 17. The motor 1 is carried on streamlined radial arms 3 in a casing 4 and to its spindle 6 is secured, by a screw 8, the fan rotor 7 with aerofoil blades 9. The air flow passes fixed blades 10 on a hub 11, to which is secured a conical or paraboloidal fairing 12, into the nozzle 13. The nozzle is connected to an elbow 14 mounted in a pipe 15 surmounting the projector flue 16. A pivoted valve 18 regulates the induced air flow.
