Abstract
677,976. Electric condensers. ERIE RESISTOR CORPORATION. March 8,1951 [March 18, 1950], No. 5610/51. Class 37. [Also in Group XXV] The invention is described with reference to a trimmer condenser, but is stated to be applicable to any screw-adjusted electrical device. As applied to condensers, a dielectric tube 1, Fig. 3, has an outer electrode coating 2 and an inner electrode 4 adjusted in the tube by a screw action; the tube has attached to it, as by a ferrule, spring arms 7 normally at a distance apart less than the diameter of the adjusting screw; the tube is inserted in a hole 9, Fig. 4, in a panel 8, the hole having extensions 10 to accommodate the spring arms 7 when they are forced apart by the screw. The ferrule may have further arms 13, Fig. 7, which engage the thread of the screw and provide a positive drive.
