657,160. Chimney sweeping equipment. CHALLIS. R. D. Jan. 22, 1949, No. 1802. [Class 126] Apparatus for use in chimney sweeping comprises a rigid flat plate fixed against the firegrate to seal the firegrate opening, an aperture 7 having secured to its edges the wider end of an outwardly projecting. tubular mask 8, the smaller end of which slidably fits the rods and brush. The screen consisting of a rectangular sheet of metal may be secured to the firegrate by adhesive tape 4 and has an aperture 5 near the lower edge for receiving the free end of a suction pipe 6 from a vacuum cleaner. The wider end of the tubular mask 8 of textile material is secured to the screen by a fixing ring 10 and bolts 11. The narrower end of the mask 8 is reinforced by cord or twine 13.
