[Class 136 (i)J In a control lever mechanism of the type described in Specification 498,820, the stepped portions of the operating quadrant b are made of such dissimilar proportions relative to the first quadrant a that when the operating quadrant is in its normal position its periphery at the base of each step of the quadrant a is above that of the quadrant a so as to be engaged by and determine the inward position of the spring-loaded pawl c while the pawl is engaged with any one step face in the quadrant a, whereby the pawl holds the operating quadrant at the extreme normal position of pin-and-aperture engagement relative to the quadrant a to prevent vibration, while the step face of the first quadrant a engaged with the pawl determines the angular position of the quadrant a about its pivot H. The quadrant a has three steps a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP>, a<SP>3</SP>. A stud hole a<SP>9</SP> carries a fixed pivot stud I for the operating quadrant b which has three steps b<SP>1</SP>, b<SP>2</SP>, b<SP>3</SP>. The surfaces between the steps are made straight instead of arcuate.
