[Class 78 (iv)] [Also in Group XVIII] A vehicle for delivering goods in measured quantities by weight or by volume comprises a hopper for containing the goods in bulk and a discharge device having a measuring apparatus and a suspension means for a container intended to receive the measured quantity of the goods and a transporting device for the container for bringing the container to the required position for handling. The hopper 1 has a discharge shoot 4, a sieve 2 over a container 3 and a sliding closure 4<1> for the shoot. The outlet of the shoot can be closed by a counterweighted slide 5. A shoot 8 extends from the shoot 4 and guides the material into a sack 13. The weighing apparatus is suspended by a bracket 27 at the rear of the vehicle and comprises two horizontal weighing arms, one for the tare and the other for the load. The balance is supported in a framework 9 which is adjustably mounted in a horizontal shaft mounted anti-frictionally in bearings secured to the bracket. A spirit level 10 may be incorporated. The sack is supported by a hanger and hooked on to the weighing arm. The sack may be raised or lowered by a winch 36, and pulleys 24, 25, and cable 23, 40.
