Abstract

636,776. Inflatable dinghies. WYLLIE, S. S. Dec. 1, 1947, No. 31742. [Class 113 (ii)] In an inflatable dinghy comprising superimposed subsidiary and main peripheral inflation chambers 2, 1, surrounding an inflatable bottom, and a plurality of upwardly bowed self-supporting inflatable tubular components 6 lying transversely of the dinghy and joined at their ends to the marginal edge of the subsidiary peripheral inflation chamber 1, a flexible cover 10 extends over and is supported by the upwardly bowed components 6 and extends to the marginal edge of the chamber 2. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, two upwardly-bowed components 6 are spaced apart and are connected by flexible cables 7 to the chamber 2. In a further embodiment two upwardly-bowed components are disposed at right angles and intersect at their mid-points, being joined at their ends to the chamber 2.
