Abstract

635,569. Drying clothes. LOVELL MANUFACTURING CO. March 11, 1947, No. 6807. Convention date, March 22, 1946. [Class 34(ii)] A tumbler type clothes drier comprises a drum rotating on a horizontal axis and having perforate axially extending walls, a surrounding fan casing 17 forming an air receiving space, outside the drum, a heater 30 for the air and clothes; axially extending vanes 14 on the drum serving as a blower for sucking air from the interior of the drum and a casing outlet 24 leading from the space. The drum is provided with ribs 2 for increasing the tumbling of the clothes and is driven by wheels 10 from a motor 25. The inlets for the clothes and for the air are at opposite ends of the drum, the heater 30 radiating through that for the air. The exit for the air from the fan casing 17 is provided with a removable filter screen 29.
