Abstract

634,899. Door and window frames. GENERAL BRONZE CORPORATION. Nov. 18, 1947, No. 30566. Convention date, May 20, [Class 20 (iii)] Light metal door or window frames are secured in the building opening by anchors which include adjusting means operable properly to position the frame in the opening and to correct any distortion, such as the outward bowing of the jambs, which may be present and which would prevent correct operation of the sashes. The combined anchor and adjuster comprises an anchor plate engaging the window or door frame between the corners thereof and a frame adjuster, which includes a screw having adjustable engagement with said plate and a bearing head which engages the adjacent surface of the opening. In the form shown, one end of an anchor plate 18 is secured to the opening framing 10 by a screw 19. The other end engages a jamb 11 of a vertically sliding sash window. A screw adjuster 27 engages a threaded hole in the plate 18 and is provided with a head 24 which bears against the framing 10. By rotating the head 24 by a suitable tool, the position of the jamb can be adjusted in relation to the framing.
