Abstract
626,438. Cycle mudguards. BLUEMEL BROS., Ltd., and BLUEMEL, F. W. Aug 28, 1947, No. 23791. [Class 136 (i)] In a cycle mudguard stay each of the extremities is adapted to be rigidly and detachably connected one to the mudguard and the other to part of the cycle frame, and the stay is made in two relatively extensible parts so that its length may be adjusted to suit varying wheel and mudguard sizes. The stay comprises a rod 11 telescoping within a tubular part 10. The parts 10, 11 are provided respectively with eyes 12, 13 secured by nuts and bolts to the frame forks 15 and the mudguard 19. One end of the tubular part 10 is threaded externally at 20 and has longitudinally extending diametrically opposite slits 21. A coned nut 22 contracts the slit end into tight engagement with the exterior of the rod 11 so as to secure the two parts of the stay in their desired relatively adjusted position.
