Abstract

626,198. Tanks. BRITISH THOMSON. HOUSTON CO., Ltd., GIMSON, C. F., and VEALE, R. H. Aug. 18, 1947, No. 22888. [Class 69 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVII] The cylindrical tank 1 of an electric circuit breaker has a length which is short in relation to the diameter and is arranged with its axis horizontal. It has domed shaped ends 2, bosses 4 to support bushing insulators and an extension chamber 5 to house the circuit breaker operating mechanism. The chamber 5 is similar in shape to the main tank and serves to reinforce it at a point where weakening is introduced by the openings in the tank for the bushings. In the Figure, dotted lines 2a, 5a indicate the curvature of the domed ends of the cylinders.
