Abstract
612,427. Finishing fabrics. TOMLINSONS (ROCHDALE), Ltd., and TOMLINSON, G. C. Nov. 28, 1945, No. 32093. [Classes 42(i) and 42(ii)] Cloth is raised by treating it with a roller of other than round cross-section, around which has been wrapped a card clothing having teeth of equal length which are parallel when the clothing is in the unwrapped condition. The roller a (Fig. 2) may be polygonal (e.g. octagonal) in cross-section, and the corners may be radiused. The corners may form a quick spiral along the surface of the roller. Alternatively the surface of the clothing may be given a polygonal form by winding it on a cylindrical roller having raised rib formations.
