612,257. Slicing machines. BERKEL & PARNALL'S SLICING MACHINE MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. (Maatschappij van Berkel's Patent N.V.). May 21, 1946, No. 15438. [Class 28(ii)] The slice thickness gauge plate 9 of a slicing machine is adjusted by sliding endwise its support rod 10 beyond the base of the machine so that it becomes located beyond the limit of travel of the reciprofood can fall on the projecting end of the cated food holder, whereby no scraps of rod 10 or on the thickness adjusting mechanism. The slice receiver 26 is short enough so as not to foul the end of the rod 10 when it is projected outwards. The adjusting mechanism is more fully described in Specification 612,256.
