Abstract
619,175. Construction of footwear. PULLUM & METCALFE, Ltd., E. V. and CHRISTMAS, J. A. Nov. 25, 1946, No. 34860. [Class 17 (ii)] A platform unit for attachment to a lasted shoe upper is made by stitching at 3, to the margin of a sole-shaped blank 1, a length composed of one or more strips 2 of leather, fabric or other material, and outwardly turning the edges of the strip 2 over the sides of a platform 7 and under its lower face at 6. A heel or wedge may be attached to the underside of the platform before the strips 2 are turned over. An insole and outersole are attached to complete the shoe.
