Abstract
617,821. Magazine gramophones. KAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Oct. 9, 1946, No. 30170. Convention date, Jan. 27, 1943. [Class 40 (ii)] In a magazine gramophone, the angular relationship between the pick-up arm 1 and a feeler-arm 8 is set during the outward swing of the pick-up arm 1 according to the diameter of the next record to be released, and utilized (by means not shown) to set the starting position on the next record. The pick-up arm shaft 2 has secured to it a plate 3 having notches or recesses 4, 5 corresponding to the relative positions of 10-inch and 12-inch records, respectively. Freely rotatable about shaft 2 is a bush 6 carrying the feeler-arm 8 and a resilient arm 7 having a steel ball 9 at its end which engages the notches 4, 5 in plate 3. During the outward swing of the pick-up arm 1 to the position 1<SP>1</SP>, the upwardly extending feeler 10 on the feeler-arm 8 engages the edge of the next record, and the plate 3 moves in relation to the arm 7 until the ball 9 rests in the appropriate notch 4 or 5.
