617,537. Converting. BOCK, J. KERR-. Oct. 5, 1946, No. 29729. [Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] An electric fence is periodically electrified at intervals determined by an electrically-maintained pendulum 10 which in its oscillation is adapted to " pick up " a secondary pendulum 18 or like device, the main pendulum at the end of its oscillation passing over the top centre line and the secondary pendulum remaining on the original side of that line and serving to draw back the main pendulum. With the contacts 31, 32 closed, a circuit is completed to the primary of a transformer 21, the core of which attracts an armature fixed to the contact 31 causing an impulse to be given through the contact 32 to the nose 17 of the pendulum which is weighted at 15. The pendulum starts oscillating, allowing the contacts 31, 32 to separate and break the transformer circuit till the pendulum swings back so that the nose 17 again presses the contacts together and the cycle recommences. The secondary of the transformer is connected to the electric fence.
