Abstract

616,409. Seal padlocks. ROBINSON, G. C., JONES, T., and ROBINSON, G. J. Sept. 5, 1946, No. 26651. [Class 44] In a padlock of the kind having a coverplate 11 hinged to the body for enclosing a paper seal covering the keyhole, both ends of the hinge pin 16 are enclosed by portions of the cover. The body has a tubular portion 17 and the cover has two spaced tubular portions 15 circumferentially split at 18. The parts are hinged together by a hinge-pin 16 inserted in the tubular portions and is located by the end parts 19 which are bent across its ends. The side walls 12, 13 are then bent up at right angles to form a box fitting the padlock body. The cover is retained in the closed position by the hasp 22 passing through a hole in the top wall 13.
