Abstract
603,996. Turbine and compressor rotors. BAUMANN, K., and METROPOLITANVICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Nov. 20, 1945, Nos. 31194 and 34276. [Class 110 (iii)] The several discs of which a turbine or compressor rotor is built are formed with lateral annular projections 1b, 1c, 2c, 3b, which are embraced by flanged rings 4, 5, 14, 15. The rings are secured to the projections by radial pins 7, 8 and are united by welding material 9, 19. Clearances 6, 16 are provided between the inner flanges and the projections to permit of the thermal expansion of the rings during the welding operation. Spiders may be fixed to the end discs by the same method to carry the rotor when the discs are not mounted on a shaft.
