603,906. Composite building units, walls. GOLDBERG, A. Nov. 5, 1945, No. 29318. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] A composite building unit comprises a body portion 4 of porous concrete provided with a surrounding metal, wood or synthetic resin frame 1 and reinforcing crossbars 2, and an outer layer 7 of heavy concrete which may be secured thereto by bitumen, rubber &c. 6 and/or reinforcing strips 5 or wire netting. Wood or fibreboard members 3 may be secured to the members 1, 2 to assist insulation and plasterboard, asbestos-cement, metal &c. 9 may be attached to one or both faces of the unit by bitumen, rubber &c. 8. The edges of the unit are stepped to receive mortar which may key with strips of perforated metal anchored to the frame 1 or which may be contained in a tray and anchored to the members 3 by a keying strip.
