Abstract

601,616. Deep well pumps. DICKINSON, R. H., and SMART, R. E. July 23, 1945, No. 18859. [Class 102 (i)] A piston 9 is reciprocated in a cylinder 5, the ends of which are connected to the ends of the cylinder 12 by pipes 14, 15 filled with liquid so that piston 13 is reciprocated. The piston 13 is attached to the pump piston 17 which forces liquid through pipe 16. The pipes 14, 15 are connected to chambers 23, 24 fitted with pistons 25, 26 adjustable by threaded spindles 27, 28 to vary the position of the piston 13 relatively to the piston 9. The pump may be arranged to be double-acting or actuated on one stroke by liquid pressure and returned by a spring.
