600,431. Scaffolding clamps. ACROW (ENGINEERS), Ltd., and HOBBS, A. A. Oct. 16, 1945, No. 27072. [Class 20(ii)] In a swivel coupler for scaffolding, the members a, b, connected together by a pivot pin c, are each formed with a recess for receiving a scaffold tube, the part of the recess adjacent to the pivot being curved to the radius of the tube while the part remote from the pivot is more or less flattened. The axes of clamping screws e are offset to the outside of the axes of the scaffolding tubes so that they tend to force the tubes securely. into the recess. The members a, b may be formed as open-backed castings or pressings, each having outer ribs a<1> or b<1> and an intermediate rib a<2> or b<2>.
