Abstract

606,815. Resilient mountings. LORD MANUFACTURING CO. Oct. 22, 1945, No. 27772. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1944. [Class 108 (iii)] A resilient mounting comprises a channel 1 having a bottom wall 6 and side walls 4 with outwardly - extending lateral extensions 5, a .rubber bridging member 3 bonded to the walls 4 and arched away from the bottom wall, and attaching provisions respectively on the channel and at the centre of the bridging member for connection to supporting and supported members. The connection to the bridging member 3 comprises a channel 7 forming a T slot for engagement with a bolt 15. In a second construction (Fig. 2, not shown) the outer ends of the lateral extensions are bent vertically downwards' and carry respective securing bolts in place of the central bolt 10. In this construction, increased softness is obtained by extending the surface of the member 3 vertically above the extensions 5. In a third construction, Fig. 4 (not shown), the lateral extensions 5 are coplanar with the bottom wall 6. The rubber member 3 is formed and bonded to the members 1, 2 in a mould which is in two halves which meet at the upper surface of the extensions 5. The mountings may be made to the length required or may be made in longer lengths which subsequently may be cut to the required size.
