Abstract
606,176. Jet propulsion nozzles. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT), Ltd., JOHNSTONE, A. P., and COHEN, H. Nov. 27, 1944, No. 23657. [Class 110 (iii)] An elastic fluid propelling jet has two caliperlike plates 4 on the nozzle, adjustment of which reduces the nozzle area. The control linkage 8B can be operated by hand lever 14 and is also connected with the supply pipe 12 to the burner nozzle 10 so that when fuel is supplied to this nozzle the jet area is maintained at its maximum. The caliper plates can be separately adjusted to give an inclined line of thrust.
