Abstract

606,071. Spray carburetters. MATHESON, G. R. W. Jan. 9, 1946, No. 851. [Class 7 (iii)] In a carburetter comprising a baffle plate 3 with orifices 4 for admitting liquid fuel into a mixing chamber 9 from an underlying well 5, as described in Specification 606,070, the supply of liquid fuel to the well or to a jet pipe 17 is selectively controlled, preferably by valves 15, 19 which regulate the flow from a float chamber 12. The air enters through an annular passage 8 between the casing 1 and a shell 6 fitted with swirling baffles 10, and after mixing with the fuel, passes upwards inside the shell 6. The jet pipe 17 is preferably of copper and a fan 11 operates in the mixing chamber 9.
