[Class 30] [Also in Group XXV] Pruning shears have steel blades 3, 4 attached to light metal handles 1, 2 and the tightness of the blades is ensured by a toothed nut 8 engaging a toothed segment 9 pivoted on one of the handles They are characterised by the nut and segment being mounted on a hard steel plate 11. The shears can be locked closed by a pawl 13 which can be operated by a thumb piece 14 to engage a tooth 12 on the plate. The handles are made of aluminium or an alloy thereof.
