Abstract
In a moulded washing composition comprising a mixture of a sulphated fatty alcohol and a base or carrier, the carrier comprises an emulsified mass consisting of stearic acid, glyceryl monostearate, liquid paraffin, paraffin wax and borax solution to which glycerine is further added. 1 part of the sulphated fatty alcohol is used to 2 parts of the base or carrier by weight. The emulsification of the carrier mass is assisted by boiling, and with added glycerine is allowed to cool before mixing with the sulphated fatty alcohol which latter is preferably mixed with half the quantity of the water used in the borax solution which is initially in double strength. The two constituents are finally gently heated with stirring and then poured into moulds to harden and set. The moulded compositions may be in tablet or other shape such as that of a shaving stick. Perfume or disinfectant may be added to the carrier mass according to the use of the resulting products.
