Abstract
592,135. Binding-posts. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A., HILL, W. E., and WINTLE, T. G. D. May 22, 1945, No. 12713. [Class 38 (i)] A compact terminal comprises a pillar a having an aperture b for a cable ferrule c and an intersecting opening tapped at g to receive a cap m which acts on a compression spring k for a plunger i that presses on the ferrule to lock it in position if the cap slackens. When the cap m is tightened it bears on the plunger flange h which rests on a shoulder e in the pillar opening. The pillar may be secured to a base and in a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), a securing screw is introduced through the tapped opening.
