Abstract
599,909. Filters for liquids. AIRMAZE (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd. May 15, 1944, No. 9260. Convention date, April 21, 1943. [Class 46] [Also in Group IX] A filter element comprises a centrallyapertured circular base member 23, Fig. 4, of relatively coarse woven wire partly flattened at points 23a, and on each side a circular screen member 24 of relatively fine wire mesh filtering material, the outer ends of the members being clamped by channelled members 26, 33. The screen members 34 have warp wires heavier than the weft wires and they may be of the form shown in Figs. 7 and 8, in which the wires 35 are flattened in parts extending each across two warp wires 34. The elements are mounted between separators 39, Fig. 4, on a slotted tube 10 within a two-part housing. A byepass valve permits flow of liquid through the tube 10 if the filter gets clogged. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a filter element in which the circular base member consists of a casting having a heavy rim and an annular web with radial ribs on both faces. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
