Abstract

599,196. Dielectric heating. MIDDLETON, F. A. Feb. 16, 1945, No. 3907. [Class 39 (iii)] A latex, &c. coating on the end of a former 1 is dried by subjecting it to a high frequency electromagnetic field between a stud electrode 4, in alignment with the free end of the former, and one or a pair of ring electrodes 2, 3 surrounding said former. The coating is effected by dipping the former, and, where a block of formers are dipped simultaneously, the electrode members 4 and 2, 3, respectively may comprise an insulated plate provided with a plurality of stud electrodes and a pair of perforated plates or assemblies of wire rings.
