Abstract

599,050. Stud-and-socket fastenings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., TROBRIDGE, G. W., and BAWCUTT, P. J. Oct. 19, 1945, No. 27448. [Class 44] [Also in Group XXXVI] A device for fastening cables, rods or the like to sheet material is composed of rubber or similar resilient material having a head 1 with an aperture 2 therethrough to accommodate the cable, a shank 3 and a neck 4, the neck having a length approximating to the thickness of the sheet 7 and a diameter adapted to fit a hole in the sheet. A slit 5 extends from the aperture to the outer surface of the clip. The device is manufactured from sheet rubber or the like having thickened margins (Fig. 9), the length being severed transversely and folded to form the clip. The device is secured to the sheet material by forcing the shank 3 through the hole with distortion of the shank. The device may also be manufactured with a plurality of apertures.
