597,917. Cotters. ALUVIAL MINING EQUIPMENT, Ltd. Aug. 29,1945, No. 22297. Convention date, Sept. 25, 1944. [Class 89 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXI and XXXIV] A dredge bucket is secured to a pin 15 by various forms of cotter pins such as a pair of slide blocks 85 which are positioned in a through hole 86 on a clamping bolt 87 so that, on tightening, the serrated parts 88 grip the pin, or the cotter pin may have serrations 94 which engage a flat 93 on the pin 15, the angular edge of the cotter pin seating on a complementary shaped keyway. Another form of cotter pin has a tapered sleeve 89 which is welded in a through hole 90 and which has a recess 91 for the pin 15 to pass through from one side, and a cotter pin 92 fitting in the sleeve 89. The pin 92 jams against the flat on the pin 15.
