597,888. Shoe trees. WORTHINGTON, W. J., and GRIFFITH, J. W. Dec. 11, 1945, No. 24783/44. [Class 17 (iii)] In a shoe tree of the type in which the toe and heel pieces are normally held apart by a spring-urged telescopic link comprising a rod sliding in a tube, the rod 20 and tube 12 are prevented from rotating relatively and becoming detached by interengaging flats 21 and 28 and a lateral projection 22 on the rod 20. The tube 12 is also flattened at the end remote from the rod in order to retain the spring 25.
