597,036. Motor cycle forks. DOWTY EQUIPMENT, Ltd., BURKE, P. W., MORRIS, R. P. W., and WILLITT, A. A. J. Dec. 3, 1945, No. 21385/44. [Class 136 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXII] A motor-cycle fork consists of a pair of struts each comprising telescoping tubes 4, 7 defining an oleopneumatic chamber of variable volume (see Group XXXII) the tubes 4 being interconnected by cross braces 5, 6 while the tubes 7 mount the front-wheel spindle 8. One of the struts embodies a brake torque anchorage connection with the brake gear. The air chambers at the upper ends of the tubes 4 intercommunicate through a duct behind the cross brace 5 and are inflated through a valve 9.
