Abstract

594,866. Collecting rings for dynamo-electric machines. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., DONALDSON, C. S., and JONES, E. July 3, 1945, No. 16887. [Class 35] A slip ring assembly comprises a plurality of concentric conducting tubes 1, 2 separated by insulators 4, 5 and each having a flange 1a, 2a at one end to constitute the brush surface, the other ends providing terminal lugs 1b, 2b, and the arrangement is such that the flange portions are axially displaced from one another. The number of rings may exceed two and the leads may pass through an insulator 11 in the hollow shaft 6, an insulating barrier such as a sleeve or tube 5 may be arranged between the two brush surfaces.
