586,298. Universal couplings. LAGONDA, Ltd., and GREEN, G. W. A. Oct. 30, 1944, No. 21098. [Class 80 (ii)] A flexible shaft coupling suitable for the driving shaft of a fuel injection pump of the camshaft type for an internal-combustion engine comprises flanged coupling members 1, 2, Fig. 3, between which is a floating disc 3 having slots 4, Fig. 1, to accommodate dogs 5, 5 and 6, 6 secured by bolts 10 to the members 1 and 2 respectively, the dogs and the sides of the slots being connected by bonded rubber sandwiches 7 whose thickness is from one-sixth to one-tenth of their transverse dimensions. One of the members is provided with arcuate slots for the bolts to facilitate relative angular adjustment of the members 1, 2.
