Abstract

576,569. Wall ties. LIVINGSTONE CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd., and LIVINGSTON, W. D. Jan. 24, 1944, No. 1293. [Class 20 (iv)] Building units comprising spaced vertical slabs 1, 2 are united by pairs of oppositely inclined tie members. A tie may be forked, a horizontal part 5 being embedded in one slab and the other end comprising a straight tie 6 and an oblique tie 7 both entering the slab at right angles to its face. The tie ends are turned over so as to engage or abut against horizontal reinforcing rods 3 in the slabs. Sets of ties each comprising a pair of crossing ties and one or a pair of straight ties may be arranged close to the top and bottom of the cavity, or a set may consist of one forked and one plain tie.
