Abstract
576,400. Spectacles. LAPIN PRODUCTS, Inc. May 9, 1944, No. 8842. Convention date, Sept. 23, 1943. [Class 97(i)] [Also in Group XXV] In a spectacle frame having ears and a bearing pin connecting said ears and spaced from the frame, all of a unitary piece, temple pieces formed with an eye and a cleft to encompass said bearing pin are made sufficiently yielding for the cleft to open and permit the larger pin to enter. As shown in Fig. 4, two .ears 11, 12 spaced from the frame by a gap 14 are connected by a bearing pin 13. The eye E of a temple piece T, Fig. 2, has a cleft 16 smaller than the diameter of the pin 13, which cleft may be opened to admit the pin. An abutment 20 on the eye E serves as a stop for the temple piece and also as a means of opening the cleft when assembling in a jig, Fig. 6 (not shown). Two stops may be provided when a shield type of temple piece is used, one on the temple piece and one on the frame, Fig. 7 (not shown).
