Abstract
Moulding powders are obtained from hydrolysable organo silicanes having methyl, ethyl propyl or phenyl radicles as organo substituents and halogens or ethoxy radicles as hydrolysable substituents by hydrolysing the silicanes and pulverising the hydrolysis products with a small proportion of anhydrous boric oxide, i.e. about 3 per cent. The pulverised mixture is allowed to stand and may be moulded under pressure at about 170 DEG C. The powder may be mixed with fillers, e.g. glass fibres or flakes.
