Abstract
563,874. Beer engines. TURLEY & WILLIAMS, Ltd., SMITH, C. D., and OTTON, D.H. April 22, 1943, No. 6461. [Class 102 (i)] In a beer engine having a non-return inlet, valve in the base of the pump cylinder, the pump piston has a small clearance from the wall of the cylinder, and means are provided for connecting the bottom of the cylinder to the suction pipe for emptying the cylinder. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the non-return valve 3 is byepassed by a passage 5 controlled by an externally-operated valve 7. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the non-return valve 17 is lifted. by an externally-operated screwed spindle 16.
